WELCOME BACK/ ORIENTATION EVENT AND Arrival and dismissal PROCEDURES
SCHOLARS MORNING ENTRY
On the first day of school in the morning, all families will wait in the basketball courts to meet their child’s new teacher at 8:15am.
For the first two weeks of school, Grades 1-5 will have morning breakfast in the cafeteria. Doors will open at 8:10am on 102nd street.
Starting September 17, the main entrance doors on 103rd street will open at 8:10am for Grades 1-5 who will be able to receive a bagged breakfast and go immediately to their classroom.
3K, Pre-K and Kindergarten scholars will be able to enter through the main entrance on 103rd street at 8:20am accompanied by their parent with a school generated pass. Please note that the parent/guardian on the pass must also be on the emergency blue card.
DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
Dismissal can be a very challenging time of the day for both Parents and Teachers. We ensure to maintain the children safe and that they are picked up by their designated parent/guardian. Because there are so many children to be accountable for, we ask that parents please refrain from engaging in lengthy conversations with their child’s teacher.
Dismissal Locations
Grades PK -K 2:40 PM Auditorium
Grades 1-2 Will utilize exit 5 at 2:40 PM Alleyway by the School Yard
Grades 3-5 Will utilize exit 4 at 2:40 PM Basketball Court
Late Pick up
Any scholar, whose parent is tardy at dismissal or attends an after-school program, will be escorted to the school Auditorium by the teacher. Parents will be asked to sign when picking up their child.
Half Day Dismissal Procedures
On Half Days, all classes will be dismissed at 11:40 AM from the regular dismissal location.
No scholar will be released during the school day to an adult, who is not listed on the Blue Emergency Card. A scholar cannot be released during the school day to an individual younger than 18 years of age.
